The Television Series - Hell and High Seas

The organisers of the Portimao Global Ocean Race have just announced an exciting new media deal with Goldhawk Media to produce a TV documentary series.

With up to six HD cameras stragically placed around each of the competing boats they will capture the highs and the lows as we pit ourselves against everything the sea has to throw at us over 30,000 miles. They will take the audience right into the heart of the action as we push ourselves to the limits of endurance as well as showing what it takes to survive mountainous waves and 50 knots of wind in the remote Southern Oceans: guts, determination, professionalism and a grim determination to succeed.

The filming will continue via helicopter as the boats reach port and during the stop overs as we re-fit and provision Beautiful Ambition for the next leg.

In addition the public will be able to follow each of the competitors closely on line using Google Earth and high resolution graphics showing the patterns of the winds and currents and relative performance of each boat.

Goldhawk Media are uniquely placed to make the Portimao Global Ocean Race into a highly successful television series. They have already achieved major success making action and adventure programming for all major UK and US broadcasters including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Discovery and National Geographic. Major international prizes have been won for films following Sir Ranulph Fiennes' North Pole expeditions and An Everest to Climb following HRH The Duchess of York leading a team of disabled climbers to the top of an Himalayan peak.
